Place the second hard drive into the enclosure and line up the screw holes on the side
of the chassis.
Using 4 of the large screws that were in the clear packet you removed from the chassis
of the Newer Technology Guardian MAXimus, fasten the hard drive to the chassis
using the upper screw holes. Insert the screws through the black rubber vibration
dampening grommets and partially tighten until you have all 4 screws inserted. You
may nd it’s easier to lift up on the drive on each end to relieve pressure from the
screws when doing this. Repeat on the opposite side and then tighten all fully.
Reach in behind the hard drive and manipulate the
combination SATA data and SATA power cable around so
that the long L shaped opening in the cable is oriented in
the same position as you see in this photograph.
Plug the combination SATA cable into the back of the
drive, making sure that it is fully seated into the drive and
also that the opposite ends are rmly connected to the
bridge card.
Look at the SATA data and
power cables that you
installed and conrm that they
are routed so that they do not
interfere with the exhaust fan.
Bending the SATA data cable (the red cable) into a U shape
as shown here keeps the cable from sagging into the edge
of the fan and is the best way to route the cable.
This is very important!
